There are two ways to enjoy the long winter nights: either pretend I don't live here where it's cold or embrace all the great things about the season with snow. Tonight I am...
...lighting as many candles as I want...
...taking a luxurious hot shower with L'Occitane Almond Shower Oil...
...pouring another glass of red wine...
...sniffing my dozens of unopened perfume samples...
...keeping warm in my fluffy socks...
...indulging in a wintery pale manicure...
...and engaging in mental discourse with five great minds on the topic of winter.

<3 I love this post! Unfortunately, though, my winter night is consisting entirely of audios, notes, and studying, so I haven't anything charming to add to this wonderful, wintery list :(
ReplyDeleteI should have been doing the same, you know. :>
DeleteSounds like a perfect winter night!
ReplyDeleteHere in LA it doesn't feel like winter at all, but I do have a good night coming up - my girlfriend planned a surprise date :) I have no idea what we're going to do! I'll let you know tomorrow . . .
Would love to know what it was! :)
DeleteJust remember that I left this mysterious comment! We went to dinner at a cute little wine bar - delicious food and wine, then went to see a play. A really fun night, and it was so fun to have her plan the whole thing!
DeleteThat sounds awesome! I love wine. :)
DeleteThis is definitely my kinda night.
ReplyDeleteMaybe tonight then? :)
DeleteSounds wonderful! At the moment it's 35 degrees celcius and we're all lying around in front of the TV, watching a Japanese horror film (the original The Ring) and sipping iced tea...
ReplyDeleteThat sounds great! Are you back from your vacay, Vita?
DeleteYeah, I'm back from the beach now. I've got one more week at home before I return to the real world and work!
DeleteLucky! My vacation already feels like it was a million years ago! I'm sure you had an amazing time!
DeleteThat sounds lovely! Love fluffy socks ;) Since it's S.'s birthday, we're having friends over for dinner (BBQ pulled pork, cornbread, beans, strawberry cream pie, booze :P) and board games! We're a wild crowd, I know.
ReplyDeleteHey now, that totally sounds like my kind of people...errr...food...lol!
DeleteMy kind of night too!!
ReplyDeleteI am watching episodes of the British show QI. I also baked a low fat version of Larie's Chocolate Guinness cupcakes.
Ooooh, what alterations did you make? Exciting!
DeleteThe more I read of what everyone is doing, the happier I feel. Mmmmm!
DeleteSounds lovely. The boy & I are about to eat dinner, drink some red wine and watch a movie...bliss.
ReplyDeleteWhat did you eat and what did you watch? I snuck in Jane Eyre and really enjoyed it. :)
DeleteI love this post. It made me want to light a fire ... except we don't have a fireplace.
ReplyDeleteI'd get a glass of wine, but there's a kitty on my shins, which are propped up on the ottoman under faux sheepskin--cat magnet. So instead I am drinking ice water from my insulated Kleen Kanteen and looking for swatches of Suqqu lipstick online, hoping I hate all of it.
Oh, Zuzu, you always make me laugh. :D I have seen and heard that they are lovely. But your faux sheepskin/kitty combo sounds lovelier.
Deletelol i'm glad i don't live where it's cold but i'm battling a cold rite now actually >_< so tonite is mostly abt sleeping even though i've literally slept for the past 7 hours and now its back to bed xDD glad you're enjoying your wknd tho <3
ReplyDeleteAwww...get that sleep and feel better, girl! NyQuil always helps (but do not take DayQuil as that stuff will knock you out).
DeleteThis sounds like a perfect way to spend a cold night in! Unfortunately it's summer here and I'm spending tonight watching the Australia Open tennis finals! LOL
ReplyDeleteThat sounds so great! God, I miss summer.
DeleteSounds like a perfect Sunday evening for me!
ReplyDeleteYes! Hope you also had a nice, relaxing weekend!
DeleteSuch lovely winter goodies!
ReplyDeleteGlad you like. :)
DeletePainting my nails. :P Surprised?
ReplyDeleteShocker! I'd ask what colour but I think there will be a post soon! :D
DeleteYour Winter night sounds just like mine tonight :) Wine, a Wintery mani (Nubar's Marble Tower), and soon kickin' back with a good book (re-reading HP5) - love it! We have to tough it out somehow, right??
ReplyDeleteI've yet to begin HP. Too many assigned readings... *sigh*
DeleteBut yes! Tough it out. Whatever makes us feel good. I'm a little stressed lately and it's making me burrow and seek out the best comforts.
I'm late to the board, but thought I'd pop in to say I loved this post--- it was so cozy :) After reading it this weekend I actually felt inspired to relax in the tub and watch some youtube videos. It was quite relaxing except for the part where the videos wouldn't stream fast enough!
ReplyDeleteLol! Dovey, you know technology is borderline unacceptable in those kind of relaxing environments. ;) But so glad you had a nice, enjoyable winter night as well.
DeleteI think I may have to borrow some aspects of your winter night. I need a bit of solace (not solstice, not sure what I was thinking) myself. So fluffy socks here I come.
ReplyDeleteSolace is just the right word. I was a bit stressed and needed comfort by all means possible. Fluffy robes and socks make it all the better! Hope you got the recharge that you needed, Danny!
